The Boston Bruins will once again be shorthanded due to injuries on Sunday.
Boston is concluding its three-game road trip on Sunday against the Minnesota Wild. On Thursday, defenseman Jonathan Aspirot and forward Viktor Arvidsson both left the game due to upper-body and lower-body injuries, respectively.
Ahead of the Bruins’ road game against the Wild, head coach Marco Sturm was asked about their two statuses, and he confirmed both would be out of the lineup.
“Both most likely will be out tomorrow,” Sturm said on Saturday. “We just have to wait until we get back to Boston to see how long. I don’t think it’s going to be too long; we’ll see.”
Aspirot and Arvidsson didn’t practice on Saturday, which wasn’t a good sign for their chances to play on Sunday.

Along with Aspirot and Arvidsson, forward Pavel Zacha is also dealing with an injury. He didn’t skate on Saturday, but Sturm called it a maintenance day and expects him to play on Sunday.
“Should be ready for tomorrow,” Sturm said about Zacha.
The Bruins are 2-0 on their three-game road trip and are looking for the sweep on Sunday. Yet, Sturm makes it clear the team has to come out firing, especially after Minnesota pulled off a blockbuster trade on Friday to acquire Quinn Hughes.

“We still have a job to do,” Sturm said. “I think that’s one of those standards and culture, we want to stay with it. It’s been around for a long time – we want to stay focused on practices just like today. Even if you win a few games, things shouldn’t change. …
“They made a pretty aggressive trade last night, so we just have to make sure we’re going to be ready to go tomorrow, because that building will be buzzing.”
Boston enters play with a record of 19-13-0 and in third place in the Atlantic Division. Puck drop between Boston and Minnesota is set for 6 p.m. ET with pregame coverage on NESN beginning at 5 p.m. ET.
