The New England Patriots escaped their Week 16 matchup against the Baltimore Ravens with a win, but they did not emerge from this game unscathed. The Pats left this one with a laundry list of injuries, and on Friday, head coach Mike Vrabel shared some worrying updates for the team.

For the most part, the Patriots have managed to avoid suffering any long-term, season-ending injuries this season. The short-term injuries are beginning to pile up, though, and it very nearly cost New England against Baltimore.

While the team’s Week 17 opponent, the New York Jets, is a significantly worse team, this is a game that the Pats have to win. Accomplishing that goal may be a bit more difficult than expected, as Vrabel ruled out seven players for the team ahead of this game.

“Mike Vrabel rules out DL Milton Williams (Ankle), WR Kayshon Boutte (Concussion), G Jared Wilson (Concussion), LB Robert Spillane (Ankle), DL Khyiris Tonga (Foot), WR Mack Hollins (Abdomen), and LB Harold Landry (Knee) for Sunday,” Brian Hines of Pats Pulpit shared in a post on X.

“WR DeMario Douglas (hamstring) and RB TreVeyon Henderson (concussion) are questionable.”

New England wants to win the AFC East division, but prioritizing health for the postseason is going to be more important. Even with all of these guys out, though, the Patriots should still beat the Jets; it just may be a little bit more difficult than initially expected.

Having both Demario Douglas and TreVeyon Henderson active for this game would be huge for New England, so it will be worth keeping tabs on them over the next couple of days. Kickoff for this contest is scheduled for 1 p.m. ET on Sunday afternoon.
