New England Patriots head coach Mike Vrabel wasn’t pleased with the explanation he received for an outrageous no-call during his club’s comeback victory over the Baltimore Ravens on Sunday.
If you’re reading this story, you know exactly what we’re talking about…
Patriots wide receiver Kayshon Boutte was clearly interfered with by Ravens cornerback Marlon Humphrey during the late stages of the comeback, though there was no flag thrown as the former made a play on the ball before losing control as he was dragged to the ground. Vrabel asked for an explanation why there wasn’t a flag, which flummoxed just about everyone in the building, but didn’t get one as the referees thought he was asking why the play wasn’t ruled a catch.
“No, no,” Vrabel said following the game when asked if he received an explanation, per team-provided video.. “Here’s the explanation I got: You have to survive the ground. I said, ‘I’m very aware of the catch rule.’ But that’s all I got.”
It’s a classic misunderstanding — which is quite convenient for the zebras.

Boutte and Humphrey’s little dance can be found here, so you can make a determination of whether or not a flag should have been thrown.
NBC’s Mike Tirico, Cris Collinsworth and Terry McAuley were also stunned at the no-call, for whatever that is worth.
New England, luckily enough, did things the hard way and scored five plays later to cap off the fourth-quarter comeback and win, 28-24.
