The New England Patriots can finish the 2025 regular season with a perfect 8-0 road record if they defeat the New York Jets in Week 17.

According to NBC Sports research, as shared by Pro Football Talk’s Mike Florio on Saturday morning, the Patriots have gone 8-0 on the road only twice before.

Unsurprisingly, both previous times that New England was 8-0 in away games came during the Bill Belichick/Tom Brady era. Furthermore, the two seasons when the Patriots were 8-0 on the road in the regular season came in years when they made it to the Super Bowl.

New England finished unscathed away from home during the historic 2007 campaign when it went 16-0 in the regular season before falling in Super Bowl XLII to the New York Giants. The Patriots also went 8-0 on the road during the 2016 campaign, which ended with a Super Bowl LI win vs. the Atlanta Falcons.

While MVP candidate Drake Maye, Coach of the Year contender Mike Vrabel and company have dropped three contests in 2025, they’ve each come at Gilette Stadium.

Looking back, it’s stunning to see that the 12-3 Patriots lost their season-opener at home to the lowly Las Vegas Raiders.

New England then lost in Week 3 at home vs. the Pittsburgh Steelers, won 10 in a row and dropped its Week 15 home tilt vs. the Buffalo Bills.

The Patriots close the regular season on Jan. 4 at home vs. the Miami Dolphins.
