The Patriots are well-positioned to make the postseason after their impressive start. With New England gearing up for a potential playoff run, it’s essential to examine which playoff teams might pose a challenge for the Patriots.

Of course, every team in the playoffs is good, but some provide the worst matchups for New England. WEEI’s radio host Nick “Fitzy” Stevens doesn’t want to see the Houston Texans in the playoffs.

“I don’t want to see the Texans coming in not with (Danielle) Hunter, (Will) Anderson, (Jalen) Pitre, (Azeez) Al-Shaair, (Derek) Stingley, that defense they hit fast, the coverage is great, the pass rush is ferocious they make timely picks, they hit like a freight train at all three levels of the defense,” Stevens said on Monday.

The Texans are coming off a huge “Sunday Night Football” win over the Chiefs, holding Kansas City to only 10 points.

At this moment, the Patriots are set to face the Texans in the first round of the playoffs if the season ended today, with New England holding the No. 2 seed and Houston at No. 7.

Hopefully, if the Patriots do face the Texans in the playoffs, New England will put a few points on the board against one of the NFL’s top defenses.
