The Baltimore Ravens defense won’t face an easy task when combating Drake Maye and the New England Patriots on “Sunday Night Football.”
Kyle Hamilton praised Maye to reporters Thursday ahead of the Week 16 matchup. Baltimore’s All-Pro safety is particularly impressed by the quarterback’s athleticism.
“I think he’s super mobile,” Hamilton said of Maye. “Big arm, big guy. I met Drake a couple of times, so he’s a good dude. But just as a player, he presents a lot of problems for a defense.”
Hamilton couldn’t recall the last time the Ravens faced a quarterback who matched Maye’s mobility. The 23-year-old has tallied 362 rushing yards and four touchdowns (two in Week 15) during his second season.
Baltimore must slow down Maye outside the pocket while dealing with his pinpoint downfield accuracy. Last year’s No. 3 pick enters the Sunday showdown in an MVP race alongside Matthew Stafford and Josh Allen with 8.7 yards per pass attempt and a 109.1 quarterback rating.

Hamilton is eager to play New England’s No. 6 offense in a game with massive playoff implications. The Patriots can clinch a playoff berth with a win, and the Ravens trail the Pittsburgh Steelers by one game in the AFC North.
“He can hurt you just as much with his legs as he can with his arm, so big props to him,” Hamilton said. “I know he’s in the MVP conversation, all deservingly so. He’s had a great year… Probably going to be a problem in the league for a long time, so excited to go up against him and their team this Sunday.”
