The New England Patriots suffered an ugly 35-31 defeat to the Buffalo Bills in Week 15, but that wasn’t the only notable storyline across the league this weekend. In fact, one eye-catching development took place involving Stefon Diggs‘ brother, Dallas Cowboys’ cornerback Trevon Diggs.
After suffering a concussion back in October, Trevon landed on injured reserve for the Cowboys. While it seemed like he was on track to return for the team’s Week 15 contest against the Minnesota Vikings, Dallas left its top cornerback on injured reserve, despite him claiming that he is fully healthy.
Reports have indicated that Trevon’s relationship with the Cowboys has deteriorated, which could open the door for him to be moved over the offseason. In an interview with Josina Anderson, Trevon even admitted that he did not know what his future in Dallas looked like.
With New England providing a home for Stefon, could the team look to reunite the brothers by bringing Trevon to town? The Pats certainly could use some more star talent, and at his best, Trevon is one of the top ballhawks in the league.
However, it seems like Trevon landing with the Patriots is unlikely. The team already has a star cornerback trio in Christian Gonzalez, Carlton Davis III and Marcus Jones. Rather than investing in another star at this spot, it seems more likely that the front office is going to focus on handing Gonzalez a big-money contract extension this offseason.

The only possible path for Trevon to land in New England would be if Dallas releases him, as his five-year, $97 million contract is too expensive for the team. Crazier things have happened, but it seems unlikely that the Patriots would be in on Trevon if his time with the Cowboys does come to an end.
