The 2026 World Junior Championship is set to kick off on Friday, and the Boston Bruins have some prospects playing at the tournament.

The tournament will be held Dec. 26-Jan. 5, 2026, in Minneapolis and St. Paul, Minnesota, and features the top under-20 players in the world. It’s a major deal to be part of the tournament, and Bruins fans can pay close attention to Team USA and Czechia, as in total, Boston has three prospects in the tournament.

The three Bruins prospects playing at the 2026 World Juniors are as follows:

James Hagens, F, USA

Boston selected Hagens seventh overall in 2025 and is arguably the team’s best prospect. Hagens is playing at Boston College and is projected to center Team USA’s first line.

Hagens played at last year’s World Juniors, helping Team USA win the gold medal as he recorded five goals and four assists for nine points in seven games. With the experience under his belt, Hagens will be a focal point of Team USA’s offense this tournament.

Will Zellers, F, USA
