Boston Bruins head coach Marco Sturm is happy with the team’s road trip, despite a blowout loss to the Minnesota Wild on Sunday.
The Bruins had a three-game road trip against the St. Louis Blues, Winnipeg Jets, and the Wild. Boston ended up going 2-1-0, but ended up a 6-2 blowout loss to Minnesota, in a game the Bruins trailed 5-0.
Although Boston was blown out by the Wild, Sturm said he’s still happy with the team’s road trip and called it a success.
“I’m very happy with the games we played,” Sturm said on Sunday, as seen on NESN’s postgame coverage. “Even here, half of the game was pretty solid. We go home over .500 – that’s exactly what we wanted.
“Guys (dug) in, guys played hard. To play in those three buildings, it’s not easy. I’m happy with this road trip, for sure.”

Although Boston was blown out by Minnesota, Sturm believes there’s stuff to build on and learn from.
“Do we like the end results?,” Sturm added. “No, but we had our chances in the first, even in the second period, and those are the chances that you have to use, otherwise it’s going to get hard against a team like that.”
The Bruins are now 19-14-0 and holding onto a Wild Card spot.
