While the rumors have provided plenty of noise, the Red Sox opened MLB Winter Meetings silent in regards to in additions.

Boston traded depth infielder Vaughn Grissom and acquired a minor-league outfielder on Tuesday. It was the team’s first official move to take place in Orlando, the third trade of the offseason by Red Sox chief baseball officer.

Boston, though, has found itself in a flurry of speculation and that’s why MLB insider Jon Heyman labeled the Red Sox as his most aggressive team at Winter Meetings.

“Teams making most moves? I’m going to say Red Sox,” Heyman said on Bleacher Report on Tuesday afternoon. “We’ve talked about them. They’re going to end up with either (Alex) Bregman, (Bo) Bichette or (Ketel) Marte. Plus, they might get (Pete) Alonso. They’ve talked about (Kazuma) Okamoto, they’ve talked about (Jorge) Polanco. I think they’re going to get two bats. They need the two bats. If they do get those two bats, they’re ready to go. I think they’re a big-time contender.”

Re-signing Bregman reportedly is atop Boston’s priority list this offseason. However, as Heyman explained, that doesn’t mean the Red Sox couldn’t make another sizable addition to their lineup with Alonso, the top free-agent slugger on the open market.
