The Toronto Blue Jays have been one of the most active teams in Major League Baseball this offseason. They’ve made some marquee signings, like Dylan Cease and Kazuma Okamoto, and they’ve also been in the mix for plenty of others, most notably Kyle Tucker’s sweepstakes.
After one of the most successful seasons in franchise history in 2025, it’s obvious that Toronto’s front office had a point to strike the iron while it’s hot this offseason.
That’s probably why Bleacher Report’s Zachary D. Rymer ranked Toronto as having among the best five offseasons in all of Major League Baseball (so far).
“The Blue Jays would rank higher on this list if they weren’t committing the unforgivable sin of not being done yet,” Rymer wrote. “But rest assured, the Bo Bichette-shaped hole in their lineup will be filled somehow. Heck, Okamoto might even be a good enough filler in his own right. The book on him practically screams, “Blue Jays hitter!” He puts on good at-bats and hits for power, which seemingly every hitter in their lineup can also do.”
“Cease is otherwise the headliner of Toronto’s offseason haul,” Rymer continued. “His results tend to be inconsistent, but strikeouts are a constant and he should benefit from having such an excellent defense behind him. For their parts, (Tyler) Rogers and (Cody) Ponce are two more sneaky-good signings. Rogers is one of the most unhittable relievers in MLB today, while Ponce is over-qualified to be a No. 5 starter after winning the KBO MVP last season.”

Even though the Jays will be without Bichette moving forward, they still have a robust lineup built around Vladimir Guerrero, Jr., and they did much to improve their pitching staff this winter. Until further notice, the AL East is Toronto’s to lose.
