Shortly after Alex Bregman signed with the Chicago Cubs, the Boston Red Sox were said to be aggressively pursuing Bo Bichette, But that was before Boston went and spent $130 million on left-hander Ranger Suárez.
The most recent updates on Bichette suggest that the Philadelphia Phillies are the most likely landing spot, with the Red Sox and incumbent Toronto Blue Jays possibly falling out of the picture.
The Athletic’s MLB insider Ken Rosenthal has been adamant about a Bichette-Phillies union, and Rosenthal doubled down on that stance on Thursday. Bichette is ultra-close with Phillies bench coach Don Mattingly (who left the Jays following the World Series).
MLB.com’s Mark Feinsand came out with some interesting intel about Bichette and the Blue Jays. According to Feinsand, Bo might be concerned about returning to Toronto due to the toll that the artificial turf at Rogers Centre takes on his body.
