After a dominant regular season campaign, the New England Patriots will now turn their attention to the playoffs, where they will kick things off with a matchup against the Los Angeles Chargers. The excitement in New England is tough to ignore, and it’s clearly spread to the team, based on cornerback Carlton Davis‘ latest comments.

One of the Patriots’ big-name free agent signings, Davis came in and formed a top-tier cornerback duo alongside Christian Gonzalez. The veteran corner suited up for all 17 games, racking up a career-high 69 tackles and 10 passes batted.

While New England doesn’t have much playoff experience, Davis has a wealth of it, as he helped the Tampa Bay Buccaneers win Super Bowl LV back in 2021. And now that he’s back in the playoffs with a new team, he’s expecting a raucous environment at Gillette Stadium.

“It’s gonna be crazy,” Davis said when asked what he’s expecting the environment at Gillette Stadium to be like on Sunday night. “I think it will be a legendary vibe in there, just having that playoff feel back in the stadium again.”

Davis is going to play a big role in New England’s efforts to slow down L.A.’s high-profile aerial attack. The Chargers have a slew of weapons on offense, and he will likely spend his day working against the likes of Ladd McConkey and Keenan Allen.

With the home crowd cheering him on, though, Davis will be hoping to thrive under the bright lights of the postseason, just like he has done in seasons past. Kickoff for this battle between the Patriots and Chargers is scheduled for 8:15 p.m. ET on Sunday night.
