The Boston Celtics are celebrating Jaylen Brown with a bobblehead night for Friday’s home game against the Sacramento Kings.

Unfortunately, Brown won’t be suiting up for the TD Garden crowd.

Brown, who was listed as doubtful on Thursday’s injury report, was officially ruled out for Friday’s contest with left hamstring tightness and a right knee contusion. Jayson Tatum is also out with his Achilles injury, although Neemias Queta was upgraded to available after being listed as probable yesterday with a non-COVID illness.

Brown collided with Onyeka Okongwu during Wednesday’s loss to the Atlanta Hawks, which may have caused the injury. This will be just his fourth missed game this season and his first since Jan. 12.

His next chance to play will be on Sunday afternoon against the Milwaukee Bucks, which will conclude the Celtics’ four-game homestand.

In the meantime, Boston will be without its two best players on Friday. The Celtics will try to beat the Kings for the second time this season after defeating them by 14 points on New Year’s Day in Sacramento.

The Kings are one of the NBA’s worst teams at 12-37, so Boston is still heavily favored for Friday’s contest. Look for Derrick White, Payton Pritchard and others to step up in Brown’s absence.
