The Celtics suffered a tough loss to the Indiana Pacers, falling 98-96 on Monday night, marking their second straight defeat.

Previously, Boston lost to the San Antonio Spurs 100-95 on Saturday. With both games ending under 100 points, this is the first time this season the Celtics have failed to score 100 in consecutive games.

It’s uncommon for NBA teams to score fewer than 100 points in consecutive games, and it’s rare for a team coached by Joe Mazzulla not to reach triple digits in back-to-back games.

WEEI’s Justin Turpin highlighted on Monday night that this marked the second time during the Mazzulla era that the Celtics have struggled to reach 100 points in consecutive games.

Turpin also noted that the combined total of 191 points scored in the last two games represents the lowest point tally over a two-game stretch in the Mazzulla era.

The Celtics need to figure out what is going wrong with their offense and, hopefully, break out of their cold spell when they travel to Miami to face the Heat on Thursday night.
