The Boston Celtics destroyed the Atlanta Hawks by a score of 132-106 on Saturday night, and Jaylen Brown continued his epic season with 41 points on 14-of-30 shooting from the field.
Boston’s second-leading scorer, however, was Sam Hauser, who dropped 30 points on ten 3-pointers! Hauser launched 21 shots from downtown in Atlanta, and in doing so became the first player in NBA history with 20-plus 3-point attempts and zero 2-point attempts in a single game.
Hauser has continued to be a reliable contributor for the Celtics this season, appearing in 40 games with 11 starts and averaging 8.0 points, 3.6 rebounds, and 1.3 assists per game in 22.6 minutes.
He has shot 38.2 percent from 3-point range and his recent performances stand out, including 19 points on 5-of-7 threes against the Toronto Raptors on January 9, and 17 points versus the Miami Heat on January 15. These efforts have helped Boston maintain a strong position in the Eastern Conference.

Over his five-year NBA career, all with the Celtics, Hauser has played in 295 games, averaging 7.5 points and 3.0 rebounds while shooting 41.4 percent from beyond the arc. Undrafted in 2021 after college stints at Marquette and Virginia, he signed a two-way deal with Boston, debuted that November, and earned a standard contract in February 2022. A key role player, he contributed to the team’s 2024 championship.
