The surging Boston Celtics will look to extend their winning streak to five games and stay undefeated in 2026 when they host the Denver Nuggets at TD Garden on Wednesday night.

It’s a historic showdown between the two best offenses in NBA history in terms of points per possession. The 2025-26 Nuggets rank No. 1 all-time at 1.23 points per possession, while the Celtics are right behind them at 1.22.

Both teams are shorthanded, however, and will be without their best player. Boston remains without Jayson Tatum, who’s missed the entire season with an Achilles injury. He’ll be joined by Josh Minott, who will miss Wednesday’s contest with an ankle sprain.

Nikola Jokic remains out for Denver with a knee injury, which he suffered on Dec. 29. The Nuggets are 2-2 and are averaging just 1.13 points per possession without him this season.

Cameron Johnson and Jonas Valančiūnas are also out for Denver. Aaron Gordon, Jamal Murray, Christian Braun and Tim Hardaway Jr. are all questionable but expected to play.

The Nuggets have scuffled lately, losing four of their last six games. They’ve been one of the NBA’s best road teams this year, however, going 14-7 away from Ball Arena.

The Celtics have won three straight home games and are 11-5 at TD Garden this season. They also beat Denver in both of their matchups last year, setting up an intriguing rematch between two of the NBA’s best teams.
