Boston Bruins star forward David Pastrnak passed Bobby Orr on the team’s all-time points list on Tuesday.
Pastrnak picked up an assist on Fraser Minten’s goal early in the second period, which was his 889th career point. The point was important for Pastrnak as he passed Orr for sole possession of seventh place on the Bruins’ all-time points list.
“He’s a special, special player,” Sturm said on Tuesday, as seen on NESN’s postgame coverage. “The stuff he does sometimes on the ice, even today – every game, it doesn’t matter – it’s pretty amazing.
“Not too many guys can do that, so it was just probably a matter of time. But catching a guy like that, it’s pretty cool. And the nice part about him is he’s not done yet here in Boston.”
Pastrnak is 617 points back of Ray Bourque for the Bruins’ all-time points record. He’s also now just nine points away from tying Rick Middleton for sixth all-time, and 123 points back of Brad Marchand for fifth all-time.
