Jaylen Brown has been getting a lot of praise lately, and all of it’s deserved. He’s carried the Boston Celtics all season and keeps getting better, especially after matching his career high with 50 points against the Los Angeles Clippers on Saturday.
With Jayson Tatum sidelined, Brown’s having the best season of his career. He’s averaging a career-high 29.6 points per game while leading the league in field goals made per game.
Brown’s also been outstanding defensively, rating as one of the best defenders in the league.
The former NBA Finals MVP has said repeatedly that he’s the best two-way player in the game right now, and he’s not the only one saying it. Former Celtics player Jeff Teague, who played with Brown during the 2020-21 season, agrees.
“He’s the best two-way player in the league, and I’m taking him over Luka,” Teague said on Monday’s episode of the “Club 520 Podcast.” His co-hosts agreed with him, too.

It’s close, and it’s a legitimate argument now. Before this season, there was no debate that Doncic was better than Brown.

This year, however, Brown’s in the conversation with Doncic, Anthony Edwards, Shai Gilgeous-Alexander and others, making a sizable leap in his 10th NBA season.
