The New England Patriots are hosting some special guests at Gillette Stadium.
ESPN’s Mike Reiss reported that the seven teams vying for playoff spots in the AFC will have scouts in attendance for Sunday’s regular season finale with the Miami Dolphins.
Shane Vereen — who was with the organization during its win in Super Bowl XLIX — will be representing the Houston Texans, joining representatives from the Denver Broncos, Jacksonville Jaguars, Buffalo Bills, Baltimore Ravens, Pittsburgh Steelers and Los Angeles Chargers.
Vereen, 36, was successful in his four-season stint with the club, where he totaled 1,930 yards from scrimmage and 14 touchdowns from 2011-2014. Texans general manager Nick Caserio was part of the front office that drafted him in the second round of the 2011 NFL Draft and eventually hired him as a player personnel assistant for Houston in 2024.
The Patriots are facing five different playoff scenarios entering Week 18, all of which can be found here.
