The Boston Bruins had their six-game winning streak snapped on Tuesday with a 6-2 road loss to the Dallas Stars.

Boston struggled out of the gates as the Stars led 2-0 after the first and 4-0 after the second period. It was a disappointing loss, and Bruins head coach Marco Sturm said chasing a team like the Stars isn’t a recipe for success.

“We were pretty much chasing the game right from the hop,” Sturm said postgame on Tuesday as seen on NESN’s postgame coverage. “Against a team like that, it’s going to be hard.”

Although Sturm wasn’t too happy with the team’s loss, goaltender Jeremy Swayman believes there are some positives to take away from it.

“I think there’s still positives to be taken out,” Swayman said postgame. “It’s hard to be punched in the mouth, but it’s important. It’s a long season. It’s our job to get out of it.”

Swayman finished the game, making 28 stops on 34 shots as he was pulled just over six minutes into the third period.

Morgan Geekie and Fraser Minten scored the Bruins’ goals in the blowout loss on Tuesday.
