The New England Patriots took the field for practice on Thursday in preparation for their upcoming playoff matchup against the Houston Texans, and they received some important injury news that will surely make their fans happy.
While the Pats coasted past the Los Angeles Chargers in their wild-card matchup, a couple of key players picked up injuries along the way. The most worrisome of the bunch saw star cornerback Christian Gonzalez land in the NFL’s concussion protocol after he left the team’s win over the Chargers early.
On Wednesday, Gonzalez practiced in limited fashion for the Pats, indicating that he had a shot to suit up against the Texans. Gonzalez took another major step forward on Thursday, as he practiced fully, which should seemingly give him the green light to play on Sunday.
Having Gonzalez healthy would be huge for the Pats, as he is easily one of the team’s best players. On the other side of the coin, the Texans could be without their top wide receiver, Nico Collins, as he missed his second straight day of practice after suffering a concussion on Monday night against the Pittsburgh Steelers.

Elsewhere for New England, Morgan Moses and Thayer Munford Jr. both practiced in limited fashion after missing Wednesday’s session. Anfernee Jennings and Harold Landry III remained limited, while Hunter Henry, Terrell Jennings and Khyiris Tonga all practiced fully after being limited on Wednesday.
Assuming everyone can get through Friday’s practice unscathed, the Patriots could be about as healthy as they possibly could be for this game. Kickoff for New England’s clash with Houston is scheduled for 3:30 p.m. ET on Sunday afternoon.
