New England Patriots head coach Mike Vrabel is taking an unsurprising approach to his club’s matchup with the Miami Dolphins on Sunday.
It’ll be business as usual…
Vrabel isn’t planning on resting any of his healthy starters for the regular season finale, even though his club’s playoff destiny is reliant on multiple factors outside of its control.
“We’re talking about a football team that won eight games in two years,” Vrabel said during his pregame interview with 98.5 The Sports Hub, as transcribed by Boston Sports Journal’s Mike Giardi. “We’re trying to create a culture of winning here.”
The Patriots can finish as either the No. 1, No. 2 or No. 3 seed in the AFC, with all of the possible playoff outcomes laid out here. If they win their final regular season game, they will finish as one of the top two seeds — depending on the outcome of Sunday’s matchup between the Denver Broncos and Los Angeles Chargers. If they lose, they will finish as the second or third seed — depending on the outcome of that same afternoon’s matchup between the Buffalo Bills and New York Jets.

Vrabel doesn’t seem to care about any of that, as he’ll deal with the eventual outcome when it presents itself.
