The Patriots secured an extra week in their season by defeating the Los Angeles Chargers 16-3 on Sunday. As New England is getting ready for its upcoming opponent, it’s likely also keeping an eye on potential players it could consider adding in the NFL Draft.

Pro Football Focus’ Max Chadwick released a mock draft on Monday, featuring the Patriots selecting Clemson edge rusher T.J. Parker with the 30th pick.

“The Patriots don’t have a single edge defender who’s in the top 40 of PFF grade this year,” Chadwick wrote. “Parker has been incredibly productive throughout his career at Clemson, posting a 90.1 career PFF grade.”

Parker played three seasons with the Tigers, racking up 21.5 sacks and 41.5 tackles for loss over the course of 39 games.

As the season approached, many draft analysts predicted that Parker would be a top 10 pick. However, his production took a hit this season, as he recorded only five sacks in 12 games.

New England should consider strengthening its defensive line by adding a top young pass rusher, and Parker could be a great option if he slips down the board late in the first round.
