The Buffalo Bills’ season ended on Saturday after a 33-30 loss to the Denver Broncos in the Divisional Round. Meanwhile, the New England Patriots will play their Divisional Round game on Sunday.

The Bills have one of the best quarterbacks in the NFL, but have not been able to get over the hump with Josh Allen. One of their biggest flaws as a team is that they lack a true No. 1 receiver. That is one of the reasons they failed to win the division over the Patriots.

Their leading receiver this season was Khalil Shakir, who had 719 yards on 72 receptions. The Bills have failed to replace Stefon Diggs after losing him. However, they can land a star this offseason. ESPN’s Ben Solak predicted they would trade for A.J. Brown.

“A year after general manager Brandon Beane’s emphatic statement that they didn’t need a WR1 went over disastrously, Buffalo will tilt and get aggressive,” Solak wrote on Saturday. “The Bills will trade a first-round pick and then some for Philadelphia’s A.J. Brown, believing he can be the final player to push their offense over the edge.”

Brown’s issues with the Philadelphia Eagles have been well documented. Multiple times this season, he expressed frustration with his role. In the Eagles’ final game, he was seen arguing with Nick Sirianni on the sideline.

Brown made multiple trade requests last season, according to Joseph Santoliquito of SB Nation. General manager Howie Roseman downplayed trade rumors after the Eagles’ season ended, but many teams could call about Brown.

His outbursts and frustration have been going on for a few seasons at this point. He is still an elite receiver and could put up monster numbers with Allen in Buffalo. The Bills getting Brown could be a problem for the Patriots.

Brown is a three-time Pro Bowler and three-time Second-Team All-Pro. He has surpassed 1,000 yards every season of his career except one. He had 869 yards in 2021, but missed multiple games.

In four seasons with the Eagles, he has 5,034 yards and 32 touchdowns in the regular season. He could make the Bills an even bigger threat to the Patriots in the AFC East.

The Patriots are also contenders to land Brown if he is traded. They do not need him as badly as other teams, but his connection to Mike Vrabel certainly makes the Patriots a landing spot.
