New England Patriots passing game coordinator Thomas Brown is drawing interest around the NFL.

The Arizona Cardinals requested permission to interview the veteran assistant for their head coaching vacancy on Tuesday, according to NFL Media’s Cameron Wolfe.

Brown, 39, has become one of the most sought after assistant coaches in football, having spent significant time learning under Sean McVay during his stint with the Los Angeles Rams (2020-2022), been named one of the top offensive coordinators in the league in a survey run by the NFLPA following his lone season with the Carolina Panthers (2023) and earned the interim head coach title during his season with the Chicago Bears (2024).

Brown previously interviewed for head coaching jobs with the Bears (2025) and Tennessee Titans (2024).

The Cardinals also reportedly requested interviews with San Francisco 49ers defensive coordinator Robert Saleh, Miami Dolphins defensive coordinator Anthony Weaver, Denver Broncos defensive coordinator Vance Joseph and Seattle Seahawks offensive coordinator Klint Kubiak.
