The New England Patriots are back in the playoffs, as they will look to take down the Los Angeles Chargers to advance to the divisional round. One guy who is pulling for them is legendary wide receiver Randy Moss, and he believes there’s one key that could help the Pats come out on top in this one.
Throughout the regular season, the Patriots dominated their opponents, which is easy to see when looking at their win total of 14. However, they didn’t face many teams that are going to provide them the sort of challenge the Chargers figure to throw their way.
Moss knows what it takes to win on the biggest stages in the NFL, and he’s quite familiar with the brand of football head coach Mike Vrabel wants to play, given that they were teammates during their respective playing careers. When the Pats take the field, Moss is going to look for the team to display its toughness throughout this game.
“I think toughness is going to really show up,” Moss said on “NFL Countdown.” “It has shown up all season … I think that you show how tough your team is if you’re running the football.”
Drake Maye’s play under center has drawn a lot of attention this year, but the Patriots have also established themselves as a hard-nosed team that isn’t afraid to get dirty. That should serve them well against a Chargers team that is pretty banged up heading into this contest.

Anything can happen in the playoffs, but if New England can play its brand of football, it will have a good shot at coming out on top. Kickoff for this contest is scheduled for 8 p.m. ET on Sunday night.
