It’s been a crazy week for Anfernee Simons.
On Sunday, he scored 27 points in 25 minutes off the bench for the Boston Celtics, helping them beat the Milwaukee Bucks at TD Garden.
Two days later, he was traded to the Chicago Bulls — the second time he’s been dealt in the last seven months.
On Thursday, he made his Bulls debut against the Toronto Raptors. While Chicago lost, Simons led his new team in scoring with 22 points, picking up right where he left off in Boston.
After the game, Simons opened up about his whirlwind week.

“Man, just taking it in stride, you know what I mean? Everything is moving so fast,” Simons told the media. “Just me and the guys in the morning, basically, and go through shootaround with them, go out there and play in an NBA game. I’m still taking it one day at a time. Just getting a real relationship with everybody, gotta keep building.”
A midseason trade is much more chaotic than an offseason trade, as Simons had all summer to settle into his new home and develop chemistry with his Celtics teammates. This time around, he’s joining a team in the middle of the season and trying to get up to speed as fast as possible.

Simons is already off to a good start on that front, immediately joining the Bulls’ starting rotation after accepting a bench role with Boston. While he’ll likely win fewer games with Chicago, he should get more playing time and more chances to boost his stats before becoming an unrestricted free agent this summer.
