Barstool’s Dave Portnoy Breaks Silence On Tom Brady Super Bowl Controversy

Barstool Sports founder and Boston sports fan Dave Portnoy has never been afraid to speak his mind and fire off hot takes.

Not surprisingly, Portnoy had something to say about Tom Brady’s recent Super Bowl prediction, which was shockingly bland.

“I don’t have a dog in the fight in this one,” Brady said on his “Let’s Go” podcast earlier this week — a weird thing for someone who played 20 seasons and won six Super Bowls with the New England Patriots to say.

Brady’s been getting raked over the coals the last few days as Patriots fans, reporters and former players have knocked him for his lack of loyalty.

Surprisingly, Portnoy ewaited until Wednesday night to chime in. When he did, it came in the form of a passionate NSFW rant on X.

“This is for Patriots fans eyes only. I don’t want to leave anything unsaid before the Super Bowl. So I’m just gonna say this and move on. I think it’s bull**** Tom Brady said he has no dog in the fight for the Super Bowl. It’s pretty obvious he doesn’t give a s*** about us anymore so maybe we shouldn’t care about him either. Maybe it was just professional and that’s fine,” Portnoy wrote on X.

Brady is a minority owner of the Las Vegas Raiders and a TV broadcaster for FOX now, which may explain his generic comments.

Meanwhile, Portnoy may be trying to deflect attention from this embarrassing video of him running that he posted to X on Tuesday. The internet has ruthlessly mocked him for his poor running form, so his Brady comments might be an attempt to change the subject.
