Miami Heat guard Terry Rozier scored a big win on Monday amid his ongoing illegal gambling case.
“Terry Rozier won his grievance with the NBA and will be paid his $26.6 million salary this season. NBA had put him on unpaid leave after his October arrest and charges. NBPA filed a grievance. Rozier was arrested this fall for what DOJ say was role in illegal gambling scheme. He pleaded not guilty,” NBA reporter Mike Vorkunov of The Athletic posted on Bluesky. “‘We are pleased with the arbitrator’s ruling and remain committed to ensuring that Terry’s due process rights are protected and that he is afforded the presumption of innocence throughout this process,’ a NBPA spokesperson said.”
“Terry Rozier’s lawyer Jim Trusty on his client’s arbitration win over the NBA: ‘Terry won today under principles of contract law and the Collective Bargaining Agreement between the league and the players, but the bigger principle at issue is the presumption of innocence,'” Alex Schiffer of Front Office Sports added on Bluesky.
It was reported in January 2025 that Rozier was under investigation to determine whether he altered his performance as part of an illegal sports betting scheme.

It was then reported in July that the 31-year-old was still under federal investigation.

The Celtics selected the former with the 16th overall pick during the 2015 NBA Draft and he spent four years with Boston.
Rozier’s best season with the Celtics came in 2017-18, when he played in a career-high 80 games and made 16 starts. He finished that year averaging 11.3 points, a career-high 4.7 rebounds, 2.9 assists and 25.9 minutes per contest, while posting a .395/.381/.772 shooting line and finishing 10th in that season’s Sixth Man of the Year voting.
