Maxx Crosby wouldn’t confirm rumors of him wanting to leave the Las Vegas Raiders with eyes on the New England Patriots.

The Athletic’s Dianna Russini raised eyebrows when saying on Wednesday that Crosby “doesn’t seem too happy” with the Raiders. The insider claimed the star edge rusher previously told her he would like to play for head coach Mike Vrabel.

Without directly mentioning the Patriots, Crosby discussed rumors about his relationship with the Raiders on Friday’s “The Herd with Colin Cowherd.” The 28-year-old said he’s learned not to be “too vocal” about coaching and personnel desires and instead focus on what he can control.

“Now that I’m quiet, now I got random people making big statements for me,” Crosby said. “And they’re like, ‘Oh, Maxx must have told them this.’ For me, I just sit back and laugh. Because I know my truth, and when I go to bed at night, I have a smile on my face because I don’t have to explain nothing to nobody.”

Crosby underwent knee surgery last month after missing the end of the regular season with a meniscus injury. The five-time Pro Bowler, who conducted the interview wearing Raiders gear, is focused on his recovery.

“I’ve said it over and over again, I’m getting healthy,” Crosby declared. “I’m in the building every single day … I’m putting in strength work, rehabbing, lifting, getting prepared for next season. That’s all that I care about. So all the noise, it’s news to me sometimes.”

Crosby feels like responding to rumors puts him in a “lose-lose” situation.

“I just try not to address certain things because no matter what, someone is going to pick it apart and make it some way,” Crosby said. “I’ll let people do their talking. All I’m about is my actions.”
