The Bruins’ two most recent first-round picks powered Boston College to a 5-1 win over Harvard on Monday night, sending the Eagles to their second consecutive Men’s Beanpot title game.

James Hagens, the No. 7 overall pick in the 2025 draft, led Boston College with three points (two goals, one assists), and Dean Letourneau, the No. 25 overall pick in the 2024 draft, finished with two points (one goal, one assist) in the blowout victory. Drew Fortescue and Lukas Gustafsson also found the back of the net during the semifinal matchup with the Crimson, and goaltender Louka Cloutier had 30 saves.

Fortescue gave the Eagles an early 1-0 lead after Boston College killed a penalty, and Hagens added to it with a pair of goals in the opening period. The Crimson’s Ryan Healey responded with a goal to start the second period, but Letourneau redirected Hagens’ shot past Harvard goaltender Ben Charette with just 20.7 seconds remaining before the second intermission, bringing the momentum back to BC’s locker room.

Facing a three-goal deficit, Harvard pulled Charette with four minutes left in regulation, but Healey’s tripping penalty ended any dreams of a miraculous comeback. Gustafsson scored just seconds into the power play, giving the Eagles the only goal of the third period.

Boston College will meet Boston University in the Beanpot championship game on Feb. 9, while Harvard will face Northeastern in the consolation game.
