Boston College completed a dominant run through the 2026 Men’s Beanpot tournament on Monday night, defeating Boston University in the championship game and capturing its first Beanpot title since 2016.
The Eagles started slow against the Terriers in the 300th Battle of Comm Ave., but they scored five goals across the final two periods in a 6-2 victory. Ryan Conmy led Boston College with a career-high four assists, and Andre Gasseau, Will Vote, Lukas Gustafsson and Dean Letourneau found the back of the net for the Eagles.

Boston University’s Brandon Svoboda gave the Terriers a 1-0 lead just two minutes into the game after scoring on a rebound. Boston U.’s power-play unit had multiple opportunities to widen the gap, but Boston College killed off those penalties. Gasseau then scored a power-play goal with just under five minutes left in the first period, swinging the momentum toward BC.

The Eagles killed another penalty to start the second period. After a stretch of solid play in net from Boston College’s Louka Cloutier and Boston University’s Mikhail Yegorov, the floodgates finally opened for BC. Vote tipped a Gustafsson shot past Yegorov at the five-minute mark of the second period, and Gustafsson ripped a shot from the blue line on the power play to push the Eagles’ lead to 3-1.
Gasseau scored his second power-play goal of the night early in the third period. The Terriers responded with a power-play goal from Cole Eiserman, but Letourneau beat Yegorov just over a minute later. Vote then shut the door with an empty-netter.
The latest edition of the Battle of Comm Ave. came down to power-play execution. Boston College scored on three of its four chances, while Boston University scored on just one of its five power plays.
