The New England Patriots are playing in the Super Bowl, and the Seattle Seahawks have emerged as favorites.

More people are picking the Seahawks to win the game, and they are the favorites in the eyes of oddsmakers. Mike Vrabel was asked how he feels about that and being the underdog in general.

“Somebody has to,” Vrabel said when asked about being an underdog on Monday night.

Vrabel added that at the beginning of the season, not many expected the Patriots to be in this position. If they are once again being doubted in the final game, he has no problem. However, he noted that he and his team are not focused on that.

“I don’t think we dislike it,” Vrabel said. “That’s not anything that’s ever affected us. I don’t think we set out to worry about those types of things.”

The age-old saying is “defense wins championships,” and the Seahawks have a ferocious defense. The Patriots have seen elite defenses on their way to the Super Bowl. The Houston Texans, Los Angeles Chargers and Denver Broncos all boasted elite defenses, and the Patriots did enough to win those games.

The Patriots will be looking to play their best game on Sunday night. Drake Maye is an MVP candidate, and the Patriots will need him to play like it one more time this season.

While most fans are picking the Seahawks, Vrabel and his team are simply focused on putting their best foot forward and bringing a seventh championship to New England. They are not paying attention to the outside noise.

If their win is called an upset, then so be it.
