The New England Patriots have been linked to Las Vegas Raiders star Maxx Crosby in recent trade rumors after he reportedly told Dianna Russini he wants to play for Mike Vrabel.

Crosby has since then come out and said any of that is news to him, and he is not seeking a trade. He is focused on getting healthy. However, that does not stop rumors. Bleacher Report’s Moe Moton proposed this trade to get Crosby to New England:

  • Patriots receive: Maxx Crosby
  • Raiders receive: 2026 1st-round pick, 2027 1st-round pick, G Mike Onwenu

“With this deal, New England would address its most glaring defensive weakness,” Moton wrote on Thursday. “For the 2025 season, the club tied for 22nd in sacks (35) and ranked 24th in pressure rate (20.3 percent). Furthermore, Crosby is younger than 29-year-old edge-rusher Harold Landry, and K’Lavon Chaisson will be a free agent who could command a massive salary after logging 7.5 sacks, 23 pressures and 11 tackles for loss this season.”

Crosby is a five-time Pro Bowler and has never been a First-Team All-Pro. However, he is a two-time Second Team All-Pro. He has 52.5 sacks in the last five years. He would clearly add to the Patriots’ pass rush. He would be their best pass rusher by far.

“From the Raiders’ perspective, guard Mike Onwenu would serve as an interior pass-protector for presumptive No. 1 pick, Fernando Mendoza and fill a need with guard Dylan Parham and interior offensive lineman Jordan Meredith headed for free agency,” Moton wrote.

Crosby is one of the best players in the entire NFL, and any trade for him will require New England to give up multiple picks. He is an elite pass rusher and can wreck games for opposing offenses.
