When New England Patriots rookies Will Campbell and Jared Wilson take the field for the Pats’ first offensive series in Super Bowl LX, they’ll have made history.

That’s because the Patriots are about to become the first team to start two rookies in the offensive line in a Super Bowl.

Both guys have been awesome for New England in their respective rookie seasons.

Campbell, the No. 4 overall pick from LSU, appeared in 13 games (all starts) during the regular season, logging 782 offensive snaps. His performance earned an overall PFF grade of 72.6, ranking him 32nd among tackles, with a strong pass-block grade of 76.1 (23rd at the position).

He allowed five sacks and drew seven penalties, reflecting some rookie inconsistencies but also clear competence in protecting quarterback Drake Maye. A knee injury sidelined him after Week 12 (suffered against the Bengals in a win), but he returned for the regular-season finale against the Dolphins and contributed during the Patriots’ playoff push.

Ranked among the top rookies league-wide, Campbell helped anchor an improved line that supported Maye’s breakout year and aided New England’s return to postseason relevance.

Wilson, selected in the third round (No. 95 overall) from Georgia, started 13 games at left guard (with some special teams work). The athletic interior lineman played nearly every offensive snap available to him before a late-season concussion caused him to miss the final two regular-season contests. He graded lower overall (PFF 49.9, 72nd among guards), with pass blocking at 62.2 and run blocking at 42.8, indicating areas for growth in drive blocking despite his strengths in space and movement.

Wilson described his rookie year as “unsatisfied,” showing accountability amid ups and downs, but his physical traits and trust from the coaching staff point to a promising future, potentially shifting back to center long-term.
