Football season is officially over, and Tuesday marked the first day of spring training for the Boston Red Sox down in Fort Myers, Florida.
The Red Sox have lots of new faces in camp this year after their busy offseason, including Sonny Gray, Willson Contreras, Ranger Suarez and others.
There was also a mystery player who arrived at camp on Tuesday. With his face covered by sunglasses and a red ski mask, he resembled Spider-Man.
According to WEEI’s Rob Bradford, the masked man was none other than Triston Casas.
Casas has drawn plenty of attention for stunts like these since debuting with Boston in 2022, standing out with his sunbathing on the field, painted fingernails, social media presence and honest quotes.

The 26-year-old first baseman is entering his fifth season with Boston. However, he’s missed most of the last two seasons with injuries, playing just 91 games combined.
He’s also coming off the worst offensive season of his career after slumping to a .580 OPS and -0.9 WAR last year. While he’s hoping to bounce back in 2026, he’s considered a question mark heading into this season given his checkered injury history and may lose some playing time to Contreras.
