ESPN’s NBA insider Shams Charania has identified four ‘serious suitors’ for Giannis Antetokounmpo ahead of the fast-approaching Feb. 5 trade deadline.
The teams? Miami Heat, Minnesota Timberwolves, Golden State Warriors, and New York Knicks, per Charania.
Antetokounmpo has delivered another strong individual campaign in the 2025-26 NBA season, despite the Milwaukee Bucks’ challenging start. Through 30 games played, the two-time MVP is averaging 28.0 points, 10.0 rebounds, and 5.6 assists per game, while shooting an impressive 64.5% from the field.
Giannis began the year with a bang, posting 36.3 points and 14.0 rebounds over October’s four contests, including a 31-point, 20-rebound effort against Toronto on October 24. November saw him maintain momentum with 29.0 points per game, and he notched several double-doubles in January, such as 21 points and 17 rebounds versus Atlanta on January 19. However, a right calf injury sustained during a January 23 loss to Denver has sidelined him for an estimated 4-6 weeks, adding uncertainty as the Bucks’ struggles continue.

Over his 13-year career since being drafted 15th overall by Milwaukee in 2013, Antetokounmpo has evolved from a raw prospect into one of basketball’s all-time greats. The “Greek Freak” claimed back-to-back MVP awards in 2019 and 2020, along with Defensive Player of the Year honors in 2020. His pinnacle came in 2021, leading the Bucks to their first championship in 50 years and earning Finals MVP with a 50-point closeout performance.
