Boston closed out a tough 1-5 road trip with an offensive onslaught at the hands of the Rockies. Nick Pivetta turned in a fantastic performance against the Los Angeles Dodgers on Friday. Wednesday afternoon told a different tale.

Pivetta labored with over 30 pitches in the first inning as the Rockies tallied three early runs. From there, Colorado’s offense kept the pedal down and posted four more innings with multiple runs.

The Rockies finished with 21 hits and 20 runs in the series finale, capping an unfortunate stretch for a Red Sox team that’s lost the momentum they entered the All-Star break with.
