Brandon Aiyuk's pending future with the 49ers has the attention of the NFL universe solely on San Francisco.

The team is reportedly on the brink of trading the talented wide receiver to one of two AFC teams just a few months after a Super Bowl loss. The 49ers are no doubt championship contenders with or without Aiyuk, though the waiting game for his fate sparked buzz.

Another 49ers star only fueled that fire.

Christian McCaffrey sat down for an interview with NFL Network on Tuesday and had a slip up when referring to Aiyuk's status.

"I don't deal with it," McCaffrey shared. "That's not part of my job. That's not part of my position. Obviously, as a former teammate, or you know, teammate of his in general, any teammate that you have, you love and respect them. You want the best for them. As far as the business side of this game goes, it's just difficult."

Does McCaffrey know something we don't?

Probably not, but the mix of words did catch plenty of attention on social media.

Coming off of a season with over 1,300 yards and seven touchdowns, Aiyuk becomes the No. 1 target on whichever team ultimately deals for him. That could be an option between the New England Patriots, the Cleveland Browns and even potentially the Pittsburgh Steelers.
