The Boston Red Sox enacted a major move for their future Sunday with the promotion of star prospects Marcelo Mayer, Roman Anthony and Kyle Teel to Triple-A Worcester.

That's a move that's been a long time coming with the trio lighting up the Eastern League together throughout 2024 with the Portland Sea Dogs. Now, the "Big Three" sits just one step away from the big-league level.

On the day news broke of their promotion, all three Red Sox prospects shared their excitement with The Boston Globe's Alex Speier.

"I've been waiting for this news," Mayer told Speier. "Obviously, the goal is always to be a big-leaguer and the next step up from Double-A is to get to Triple-A."

Anthony gets the jump after ending his Double-A tenure in style with a go-ahead home run Sunday.

"I'm super competitive and want to get to the big leagues as fast as I can," Anthony told Speier.

Teel might have had the best reaction, giving a solid glimpse to the connection the trio built in recent months.

"I pulled Marcelo aside before we came in (the clubhouse), and I was like, 'Bro, this is unreal. We're literally moving together,'" Teel told Speier. "We have a such a great culture and a great friendship."
