FOXBORO, Mass. -- The Patriots and Eagles met for a joint practice on the backfields at Gillette Stadium on Tuesday.

How did they prepare ahead of the exhibition Thursday? Who looked ready for game action? Who didn't? We wrote down a few names throughout practice, with a number of guys standing out on both sides -- both positively and negatively.

Let's take a look at the biggest studs and duds of the day:

STUDS

CB Christian Gonzalez
Gonzalez drew a pair of tough matchups Tuesday, lining up against A.J. Brown and Devonta Smith during the 1-on-1 period. He held his own, winning 2-of-5 matchups, which is admirable considering those drills favor the offense. The Eagles rarely threw at Gonzalez during competitive team drills, and he finished with one nifty pass break up on Dallas Goedert.

DT Davon Godchaux
New England's defensive front was superb against Philly, who has long boasted one of the stouter offensive lines in the NFL. Godchaux was at the center of it all, accounting for a couple of run stuffs and one sack during team periods.

TE Austin Hooper
Hooper was the best offensive player for the Patriots, finishing with seven total catches. Hunter Henry was absent, and just as has been the case throughout the summer, Hooper stepped up in a big way.

What do you think?  Leave a comment.

BONUS: WR A.J. Brown
Brown was the best player on the field. Jabrill Peppers said after practice the best course of action against Brown is to "slow him down," and though it could be argued they did that, there's no doubt the 27-year-old got his.

DUDS

OL Atonio Mafi
Mafi is catching the blame, but he's really a representative of the entire offensive line. The Patriots offense was never able to get much of anything going, and the line was responsible for giving up double-digit sacks on the afternoon. Mafi subbed in with the second unit during a pair of competitive team drills, and was tacked with one sack allowed in each.

WR Jalen Reagor
Reagor didn't win any of his 1-on-1 reps, nor did he have a catch during competitive periods. It feels like his roster spot is slipping away lately.

DL Trysten Hill
New England's interior had a tremendous day, but Hill wasn't really part of that. He was dug out on two lengthy runs, and found himself on the ground in one competitive period against backups.

BONUS: OL Mekhi Becton
Becton has been playing guard in Philly, and although it has allowed him to stay on the field, he hasn't exactly looked great. Godchaux's dominance was largely on the interior against Becton.
