Trent Brown made the jump in free agency from the New England Patriots to the Cincinnati Bengals this offseason. The imposing offensive tackle moved from a rough offense in New England to protect one of the game's premier quarterbacks, Joe Burrow.

Unfortunately for the Bengals, Brown's tenure has been anything but an upgrade. The Patriots upset Cincinnati in Week 1, and the Bengals ultimately dropped to 0-3 with Monday night's 38-33 loss to the Washington Commanders.

On top of that, Brown exited the game with a knee injury as the medical staff carted him off the field at Paycor Stadium. He did not return to action, as confirmed by NFL Media's Ian Rapoport.

The 31-year-old signed a one-year deal with the Bengals in the offseason, joining a roster that has Super Bowl potential but anything but that production to start the season. Brown won Super Bowl LIII in his first stint with the Patriots.

Cincinnati faces another obstacle to overcome in what's quickly becoming a daunting AFC North division this season. The Baltimore Ravens turned a corner in Week 3 for their first win of the season after defeating the Dallas Cowboys. The Cleveland Browns, however, have struggled while the Pittsburgh Steelers are surprisingly 3-0 with the fresh face at quarterback in Justin Fields.
