A former Bruins goalie will make his return to TD Garden on Saturday, and fans hope to see one sight for one last time.
Jeremy Swayman and Linus Ullmark will face off when the Ottawa Senators arrive in Boston. Fans stuck around after every win to see the former teammates hug, a tradition so special that it was retired after Ullmark was traded last offseason.
The goalies are looking forward to Saturday’s matchup, but whether or not there will be a postgame hug is up in the air.
“It’s always organic, that’s for sure,” Swayman told reporters, per a team-provided video. “But I guess you’ll have to wait and see.”
Boston and Ottawa need a win Saturday to stay afloat in the Atlantic Division. The result of the game might dictate whether or not Swayman and Ullmark stick around on the ice after the final buzzer. But as the Bruins netminder noted, it’ll be an organic moment for all fans of the Black and Gold.
