Sauce Gardner isn’t even going to try to help the Jets land arguably the best wide receiver set to hit NFL free agency.

Gardner was among those who lauded Tee Higgins on social media after the Bengals star went off for three touchdowns in Cincinnati’s overtime win over the Denver Broncos on Saturday. The New York cornerback pleaded for the league to “pay the man,” which prompted a Jets fan to ask Gardner to recruit Higgins to the Meadowlands.

“I will NOT be telling him that,” Gardner replied to the fan on Instagram.

Football fans online ran wild with the 24-year-old’s response, as many interpreted the remark as Gardner trying to keep Higgins away from the dysfunction in New York. But the 2022 No. 4 overall pick eventually cleared the air, pointing out how the Jets rostering both Garrett Wilson and Davante Adams probably makes Gang Green an unlikely suitor for Higgins.

There’s still a chance Gardner could see plenty of Higgins in the future, though, as the receiver-needy Patriots figure to make a run at the fifth-year pro. But all things considered, Garnder might not have to worry too much about the possibility of Higgins taking his talents to New England.
