Before the holiday break last month, the Boston Bruins looked like they had found a winning formula.
The Black and Gold were 8-2-1, outscoring their opponents 37-32 during that span. However, coming out of the break, the Bruins have struggled to find offense and wins.
Going 1-5-1 in their last seven games, Boston has lit the lamp just 11 times while their opponents have found the back of the net 21 times.
Adam Pellerin and Judd Sirott discussed what changed for the Bruins since Dec. 23 on the latest episode of NESN’s “The Hockey Hub” podcast.
“When they started to their game around here this season, it was they were playing that stingy, hard-to-play-against game. They were a tough out,” Sirott told Pellerin. “After the Christmas break, if you look at the games, they haven’t played the same way. … And playing the same way that started to turn their season around once the coaching change was made. They have to play a certain way in order to be successful. They have to be dialed in defensively.”
