A Patriots legend made an impassioned plea for Robert Kraft amid the team’s head coaching search.

New England interviewed four candidates this week, and a decision reportedly could come quickly. Ben Johnson has a chance at the position as the Patriots are keeping an open mind. However, Mike Vrabel is the frontrunner for the position.

Tedy Bruschi did not want to leave things to chance and stated who he wanted to be New England’s next head coach.

“My former team the New England Patriots have been absolutely a mess the last couple years in how they’ve handled things. The only way to fix things is to hire Mike Vrabel,” Bruschi said on ESPN on Saturday, per CLNS Media’s Mike Kadlick. “I’m telling you right now. A coach that can come in there and doesn’t just lead men, but knows how to lead football players. Knows how to reach football players and can deal with that ownership. Fix the organization, Robert and Jonathan Kraft, and hire Mike Vrabel.”

It wouldn’t be out of turn to call Bruschi bias in his analysis. The Patriots Hall of Famer was teammates with Vrabel for eight seasons, and the former linebacker duo shared a close bond on and off the field.

That being said, Bruschi isn’t alone in thinking Vrabel is the perfect fit with New England. There already are reports hinting at what the former Tennesee Titans head coach’s staff would look like if hired, including the return of Josh McDaniels.

Kraft might have already made his decision, but Bruschi’s plea gave fans something to chew on over the weekend.
