The Boston Bruins and New Jersey Devils matched up for the second time in seven days for their final game of the NHL regular season. The Bruins are out of the playoffs for the first time since the 2015-2016 season. In fact, all of the four American Original Six teams will be out of the playoffs for the first time in NHL history.
Morgan Geekie was named NESN’s 7th Player, given to the player who most exceeds fan expectations in the season. He proved how much he deserved it with the first Bruins goal of the night for his 33rd of the season. David Pastrnak scored as well, for his ninth career 10-game point streak. It ranks him second in franchise history behind Phil Esposito’s ten.
Two players made their NHL debuts with the Bruins on Tuesday: Frederic Brunet and John Farincacci. Farinacci, a New Jersey native, scored his first goal with his family in the stands.
