The Boston Bruins have posted a 17-13-0 record through their first 30 games, and to the surprise of many, they are currently sitting in second place in the Atlantic Division. A big reason for the team’s success has been the stellar play of Morgan Geekie.
After racking up a career-high 33 goals last season with Boston, Geekie has taken his game to another level in the 2025-26 campaign. Through 30 games, he’s already got 22 goals, which is the second-highest total in the league behind Nathan MacKinnon of the Colorado Avalanche.
Simply put, Geekie has been a stud for the Bruins, and with the 2026 Winter Olympics drawing near, it’s fair to wonder if he will make Canada’s roster for the prestigious competition. While there are a lot of options to choose from, Fluto Shinzawa of The Athletic recently predicted that Geekie’s big season would earn him a spot on the roster.
“It does not help Geekie’s case that he does not kill penalties. He did not make the 4 Nations roster. His lone international appearance was in the 2021 World Championship,” Shinzawa wrote.
“But Geekie has made a living of proving people wrong. Scoring goals is hard. He has made it look easy. I think Geekie makes it as one of two extra forwards because of his goal-scoring touch.”

Without Geekie, it’s fair to wonder where the B’s would be this season. With a revolving door of players taking the ice for the team, Geekie has been a stabilizing presence on offense, despite the fact he’s receiving more and more attention from opposing defenses.
The competition is stiff, but Geekie’s strong play cannot be ignored. As a result, it wouldn’t be a surprise to see him sneak onto Canada’s roster and represent his country during the upcoming Winter Olympics.
