The MLB Winter Meetings resume Wednesday in Orlando, Fla. and all eyes will be on Boston Red Sox chief baseball officer Craig Breslow as trade rumors fly fast and furious.

Here’s what we know as of this morning.

“They have discussed second baseman Ketel Marte with the Diamondbacks, shortstop Corey Seager with the Rangers, third baseman Isaac Paredes with the Astros, and infielder/outfielder Brendan Donovan with the Cardinals, a source said,” according to the Boston Globe’s Tim Healey and Alex Speier.

Marte Market

“Ketel Marte market heating up: Red Sox, Mariners, Jays, possibly Phillies and Rays. D-Backs seeking big package understandably for superstar 2B,” the New York Post’s Jon Heyman reports.

The 32-year-old Marte is a three-time All-Star and two-time Silver Slugger Award winner. He’s hit at least 25 home runs in each of the last three seasons.

Marte finished third in National League MVP voting in 2024 when he set career highs with 36 home runs and 95 RBIs.

Seager Market

“Per source, there is ‘no momentum’ when it comes to Red Sox interest in Seager,” WEEI’s Rob Bradford reports.

Seager is a five-time All-Star and three-time Silver Slugger Award recipient. He’s won two World Series titles: in 2020 with the Los Angeles Dodgers and 2023 with the Texas Rangers. Seager earned World Series MVP honors after winning each ring.

The 31-year-old was the 2016 National League Rookie of the Year and has hit at least 30 home runs in three of the last four seasons.

Paredes Market

“The Astros are in the market for young, controllable pitching and have targeted either Payton Tolle or Connelly Early for their desired early,” Masslive.com’s Sean McAdam and Chris Cotillo report.

“At least one member of the Red Sox organization Tuesday suggested that was too high an asking price. The Red Sox are getting hits on other controllable pitchers like Hunter Dobbins and Kutter Crawford, though, and those arms might interest teams like Houston,” McAdam and Cotillo add.

Paredes, 26, is a two-time All-Star. He set career highs with 31 home runs and 98 RBIs in 2023 with the Tampa Bay Rays.

Of course, Breslow continues to work the free-agent market as well. The Red Sox reportedly held a Zoom meeting with New York Mets first baseman Pete Alonso and are said to be looking for a face-to-face sitdown with the five-time All-Star.

And don’t forget about third baseman Alex Bregman, who Boston wants to re-sign.

What’s clear is the Red Sox infield could look significantly different around the horn heading into the 2026 season.
